The Treaty of Amsterdam amending the Treaty of the European Union, the Treaties establishing the European Communities and certain related acts, commonly known as the Amsterdam Treaty, was signed on October 2, 1997. After formal signing and approval of the Treaty by the European Parliament on 19/11/1997, each member state ratified the treaty as follows (the treaty came into force on 1/5/1999).

Austria
Special constitutional law, amanded Constitution and Treaty adopted on 9 July 98. Deposit of instrument of ratification on 21 July 1998.
