European Treaty on Statutory Limitations (1974)

The European Convention on the non application of Statutory Limitations to crimes against humanity and war crimes was adopted by the Council of Europe on 25 January 1974 and entered into force on 27 June 2003 when, in accordance with article 3, the third instrument of ratification or acceptance was deposited into the Council of Europe.

According to the article 1 of the Convention, statutory limitation shall not apply to the crime of Genocide, war crimes and any other violation of a rule or custom of international law which may hereafter be established and of a comparable nature to those referred above.
