Anthropology in Action: Special Issue on Contributions and Challenges of Intercultural Education

Contributions and Challenges of Intercultural Education is a compilation of a series of contributions to the analysis and understanding of the theory and praxis in Intercultural Education. This monographic issue in the Journal of Anthropology in Action is a groundbreaking production because it presents trans-Atlantic cases including Bolivia, Texas and Spain; it also constitutes an interdisciplinary exercise focused on the role that policies and education practices play in the ideological and political processes that transforms immigrants and ethnic minority students into ‘others”. The authors integrate an interdisciplinary team of scholars with a long collaborative trajectory in intercultural research. In particular, these articles were originally presented at a panel titled Interculturality: Anthropological and Interdisciplinary Contributions and Challenges, at the Society for Applied Anthropology meeting in Baltimore, USA, 2012.
