On November 28th, Cultural Heritage took a big step in obtaining a place within the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme (2014-2020). The existence of a Joint Programming Initiative on Cultural Heritage had been used to eliminate this theme from FP8 but, perhaps the very doubt that the JPICH will take off sometime, has led to its reintroduction. This took place after the ammended the Commission proposal to include in several instances, and different calls, the acknowledgement of cultural heritage as one of the underlying issues. These ammendments were positively voted by the Industry, Research and Energy Parliamentary Committee (ITRE), and are thus ready for the final Parliament decision, probably in december. More information and text ammended can be found in a letter by Dr. Cristina Gutiérrez Cortines, reporting on the ITRE decision.
