The ICAZ Taphonomy Working Group invites papers for their 2nd meeting "Taphonomy and archaeozoological research: recent approaches" to be held in September 12th-14th, 2012, at the University of Cantabria, Santander.

On June 25-28, 2012 the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU of Barcelona will host the 7th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. Among the topics for the parallel sessions and round tables are: archaeology and the humanities, natural and environmental sciences, technology and applied sciences, research methodologies and interdisciplinary perspectives.
The 10th edition of the international conference on New Directions in the Humanities will take place in June 14-17, 2012, at the Centre Mont-Royal de Montreal (Canadá). This conference has been held annually since 2003, always in a different location. Submission of presentation, workshop or session proposals is currently open.
The Infrared and Raman Users Group (IRUG), a forum for the exchange of infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopic information, reference spectra and materials in relation to heritage, has announced its tenth biennial conference, to be held at the Universitat de Barcelona on March 28th-31st, 2012.
The new edition of the International Symposium on Virtual Reality, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (VAST 2011) will take place on October 18th-21s t, in Prato (Italy). The call for papers is currently open, though only until July 10th.
The Instituto de Arqueología de Mérida and the Instituto de Historia (both CSIC) jointly organize this CSD-TCP workshop under the name "International Mediterranean Survey Workshop", dealing with archaeological survey techniques. It will take place on April 29-30, 2011 at the CCHS (c/Albasanz 26-28; 28037, Madrid), in the room 0E18 ("Menéndez Pidal").

On July 17-21, 2011 a new ESF research conference will take place at the Scandic Linköping Vast (Linköping, Sweden). This edition is titled "Re-Visiting the Contact Zone: Museums, Theory, Practice", and is included within the social sciences and humanities subprogram of the European foundation. As is usual in these, there is a possibility of opting for grants.
