The enrolment process has begun for the second edition of the CSIC official postgraduate course with the name Modelado Conceptual para Patrimonio Cultural ("Conceptual modelling of cultural heritage"), offered in Spanish. This course is directed by César González Pérez, member of the CSD-TCP program, and organized by the INCIPIT (CSIC). Students can be undergraduates, teachers, professionals, scientists and other cultural heritage specialists who have the need to conceptualize, record, express and visualize information as part of their job.

Information management activities related with cultural heritage often result in people who lack the necessary specialized IT knowledge designing data structures, fiches and other information management systems. This course intends to introduce those people to conceptual modelling, thereby preparing them for tasks such as:

  • Deciding what types of things should be documented
  • Determining how each one is described
  • Specifying how they are inter-related
